FAQs
What are I-tip extensions?
I-tips are a individually placed extension technique that latches onto natural hair using flattened microbeads or metal cylinders. While they’re sometimes synonymous with micro links, technically they are different. I-tips differ because they are individual pieces of hair that are used with a cylinder piece that all interloop around a person’s natural hair. Comparatively, microlinks are created with a wefted track. Both extension techniques are to add fullness and length to your already beautiful hair.
What are hand tied weft extensions?
Hand-tied extensions is a term that describes attaching a weft or “curtain” of hair to natural hair. First, the stylist will create a foundation of silicone beads on the client’s natural hair. Then, the stylist will sew the hand-tied wefts onto the beaded foundation, securely attaching the hand-tied weft to the natural hair. Like, I tip extensions, hand tied extensions, commonly known as microlinks, can be used to add fullness and length.
What does the term “wefted” mean?
Wefted hair is hair used for weaving. It is sewn or bonded (with special bonding glue) into a track/braid ready for the weaving process. A weft looks like a curtain or hair stitched together along the top.
Can the weft be cut?
Yes. Our wefts are reinforced and made by a machine. They can be cut without unraveling. We do not suggest cutting our weft.
Does this hair shed?
Any hair that has been manufacture to be stitched on a weft is entitled to experience minimum shedding which is absolutely normal. Minimum shedding meaning (the hair will be never have a noticeable or drastic decrease in its density or volume. However, proper maintenance is extremely important and advised.

How much does each bundle weight?
Each bundle is weighted between 3.2-3.5oz. I tip strands are measured in grams and amount depends on client.
Will each weft be the same length?
Virgin Hair is first weighted 3.2-3.5oz and hand sewed on a weft, so the wefts will be different between each bundle.
Does the hair appear natural?
Very! The wind could blow; someone could touch your hair, swim, sauna, and spa. It is incredible and the hair is as light as a feather, no one will even know you have hair extensions.
Can I color this hair?
Yes, this is 100% virgin human hair that is not processed in any way. So you can color the hair, once virgin hair is treated in any way, it is no longer virgin, and therefore we recommend that you color or process your Brazilian hair by a professional.
Common I-Tip Questions
How is it for 4b and 4c hair?
Great! I have kinky extensions as well that can be straightened, worn curly, or in natural styles! Finding out your pattern and texture to match your natural hair is a big part of your consultation that has to be done in person.
How should I wear my hair for the consultation?
Please wear your hair how you plan to wear your install primarily once installed.
My hair is fine, is that okay for i-tips?
Yes, but I can help you better during your consultation.
Is the hair included in the price?
Yes, the hair is included! I provide the hair used for I-tip installs. You just show up on time for your appointment, simple as that!
How much is the cost are payment plans available?
The cost of the service is $500. This includes wash and style, trim and only 100 strands of raw I-tip extensions. Most guests need 150-200+ strands for a full install. The amount you need varies upon your hair and it’s needs. Each strand after the original strands costs.
Is this a protective style?
Unfortunately, i-tips along with all microlink installs leave out ALL of your own hair so it wouldn’t qualify for a protective style.
I heard they’re damaging, will i-tips break off my hair?
Anything done without proper installation and care can be damaging but I equip my clients with the tools they need to upkeep their extensions at home if need be. And if they don’t want to do it themselves I’m always an appointment away. Again, all of your hair is left our so you have to be cognizant about how often you apply it to your hair.
How long do they last?
The length of wear depends on each client but typically 10-12 weeks. I see my clients about half way through to check their hair and suggest take down time.
Does maintenance get more difficult with more activity?
This type of install leaves out all of your hair so you will have more hair to maintain in addition to your natural hair. But upkeep is pretty close to what you would normally do to your own hair. Most of my i-tip clients care for their hair from home.
